Key Stage 3

The Programme of Study within the Physical Education Department is delivered through the following activities:

  • Gymnastics and dance
  • Swimming including personal survival, water rescue and life saving
  • Track and Field athletics, cross country and health related exercise
  • The team games of football, hockey, basketball, rugby, netball, cricket and rounders
  • The racket games of tennis and table tennis

In Year 9 the areas of experience are extended to include:

  • Badminton
  • Weight training for the boys
  • Aerobics and Trampolining for the girls

All lessons have an element of work on personal fitness, mainly focusing on endurance (stamina) and general body conditioning.  

The activities rotations may be viewed for each year group.
