Year 8 Camp

On Year 8 Camp week we did a lot of fun activities and got closer to a lot of our friends. On Monday and Tuesday we went to Foxlease, where we stayed over the night in tents. At first we found it quite difficult to put our tents up because we couldn’t find our poles, but when we eventually got them, me Jazzi and Rosa got our tent up and it was quite spacious on the inside.

We did activities like swimming, archery, low ropes, high ropes and zip wire. I think high ropes was the best because we did Jacob’s Ladder and got quite high. By Emma W

One of the highlights for me was Thorpe Park - it was amazing! I went on lots of rides. My last one and favourite was “Tidal Wave”. I got so unbelievably W-E-T!

My other favourite was the “Flying Fish”. I went on this 4 times! I went on different rides with different people all the time. It was phenomenal! By Shiona M

On Friday we went to Woodmill to do some water -activities. Our raft building failed very badly and came apart in the water! I didn’t go on the raft because it was loose, but it was funny seeing the other people falling in the water! By Hershila P

On Friday 1st July we went to an activity centre called Woodmill. This was my second favourite day of camp week. When we arrived, we had to get into groups and get set up for the activity we were about to do. Some of us went kayaking, tunnelling, crate climbing and raft-building. We had 3 activities to do, and my group had kayaking, tunnelling and crate climbing. By Louise S

Overall I think that this week has been great and I will never forget all the fun I have enjoyed. I think we have come more together as a year group, teachers included, and I’d like to thank all those who made year 8 activities week possible. By Katie G
